As the retail industry continues to face a downturn in consumer spending and a market driven reduction in the cost of many goods, it is vital for retailers to make intelligent use of technology to aid the digestion and analysis of company data.
Retailers often have multiple operational transactional systems such as merchandise management, ERP and POS, each collecting vast amounts of data. Such systems offer very specific information to the retailer. However, in most companies the information from each application exists in isolation from information in other applications. This makes it difficult to analyse information and, as a result, an important source of management intelligence is lost. Real value comes from systems that go beyond the limitations of operational software alone.

Edenbrook developed a data warehouse to allow our client to publish sales and financial performance information to retail outlets on a daily basis. The solution has been deployed to over 1000 outlets and has been developed using a combination of SQL Server 2005, Reporting Services, BizTalk and ProClarity. |
Global Wholesaler |
Implemented an ERP application to improve financial reporting and also to provide a management reporting solution. The solution has been deployed to over 500 concurrent users globally. The ERP solution selected is Microsoft’s Dynamics-AX (Dynamics AX) product. |
European High Street Retailer |
Installed new central applications to support HR, and Payroll processing for a European retail organisation. The solution supports over 10,000 employees across 10 countries. Oracle E-Business Suite was selected as the ERP application. |
